Was the warranty punched and the car put into service in February last year, as would be the case if the car was a demo or otherwise used before you bought it? It's also conceivable that when the dealer did the PDI on the car the service interval clock got started, even if the car just sat on the lot until you bought it.

Did you buy the car new or as a demo or CPO. IT seems strange that the car would have been serviced at 27 miles. One thing that can happen is that when you buy the car new they are need to reset the counter. Not so much an issue with current 992's that are already pre-sold before hitting the shores but in a car that is "born", comes state side and then sits for 6 months, if they forget to reset the counter the warning will pop up on its "birthdate" rather than when it should pop up which is a year from sale date

Call the Porsche Help Desk. They can tell you what their system says "In Service" date for your car is. If it's not when you actually bought the car, you'll want to have a conversation with your Dealer. It's probably nothing nefarious. Someone may have fat-fingered a key at some point somewhere. Could be on the Dealers side or just as easily someone at Porsche. There's probably no value to you in finding the culprit. You just need your Dealer and Porsche to agree to reset the clock to the correct date.

Is there a max time from manufacturer to first service? As in, if the car sat at the port or was otherwise delayed would the normal 12 month period be overridden?

As an aside I am not sure that Carfax saying the car was serviced is accurate. That said I am not thinking this was a warranty punch issue but rather just someone forgetting to reset the clock
When I bought my Boxster it had been "born" in January and sat in the lot until I bought it in July. The warrantee was appropriately put as in service in July but someone forgot to set the service clock as well and so every January I got a reminder to do a service. It was just an annoyance as I had to ignore the warnings and between July and December I was good but as January rolled around I would get that annoying reminder.

The 12 months begins from the day the car is first purchased or the warranty is punches which ever is sooner. A car sitting for two years on a lot would not gets its one year or 10K service early. Now if the new buyer insisted on it as part of the deal I am sure it would be done but not counted as the one year 10K service.

That's a good point. However, when I go to the "Car Control" page in "My Porsche" it shows my "Oil change due in" in miles and by month/year. The miles is always 10,000 minus my current odometer reading. The "Oil change due in" date is and has always been 12/2021. That's despite its build date in September, Delivery to the Port of San Diego in early October and not in my hands until the middle of December.
