I agree, GREAT forum. Lots of different perspectives on things but lets face it, most of us here have at least a Bachelors Degree and fully understand that most "professors" are just blabber mouths that wouldn't last a month in the business world.

So, you’re complaining of what you feel is a large (five?) number of lemon 2020 992s that you wouldn’t buy anyway? Don’t get a 2020 992 for the same reason you shouldn’t get the first year of a new model anything. Go rant to Nick Murray. He had two 991 Lemon law buybacks. They do happen and some folks just get unlucky with the very few that are lemons. That’s not to say it’s all 992s. These cars are very complicated with like a hundred computers. I avoided a 2020 and waited until 2021s for a reason. My uncle had to have an engine put in his 2014 BMW 550 which ended up being bought back under Lemon Law, which was replaced with a 2018 BMW M550i, which had TWO engine replacements, and was bought back under Lemon law. He’s on a new 21 BMW M550 so fingers crossed BMW finally figured out how to make a V8. (I know, my uncle is a glutton for punishment). Lemons do happen.

I had a first year in the US VW V8 Loaded Touareg bought back by VW. At 800 miles, I was getting oil in the coolant system. Long story short they offered to buy back after 24 days in shop since a new engine was needed from Germany. I broke the engine in and all was good. I asked what was going to happen to my car and they said it was going to out of state auction. The buyback required that I sign over a clean title. The car had about 2500 miles when I turned it in to VW. I can just see the sales person on the lot saying that they have a customer that buy cars and flips them regularly. Buyer beware unless you get a stupid good deal. I’m not sure the Lemon Law carries over to the second owner.

2020 was 2nd production year of the 992.

I had the first V8 Touareg delivered to my dealer in Phoenix. When the Arizona summer hit 110º, all the interior "wood" trim came unglued and fell off! After several more serious issues, VW took the car back. (I did like the loaner W8 Passat wagon, though!)

Exactly. US was late to the party with 992’s.

huh? The Covid vaccine trials were held in academic centers as well as there being sig collaborating Btwn private industry and academia.

being a physician myself there is tremendous utility where I am for academia.

I don’t know how this thread turned to nonsense so fast.

Agree spike protein binding region for Moderna was developed at UT and Johnson and Johnson vaccine originated at BIDMC- Harvard medical labs.

Not sure why it is bash on academicians month (I am not an academician) but we certainly would not be at vaccine rollout phase without help from our academic colleagues

Good grief, now we're talking about vaccines.

If Godwin's law holds (and I have no doubt that it will), I am expecting a Hitler reference soon.
