Default Knocking noise at idle in 2020 911S

Over the weekend I noticed a knocking noise, while in Park, at idle in my 911S. It isn’t a harsh sound, but a mild, consistent tapping or knocking noise. When slight throttle is applied it goes away but returns when car returns to idle. I haven’t noticed it when cold, but only when warmed up. The car has roughly 4,000 miles on it. I scrolled through previous posts and didn’t see a similar question.

Has anyone else noticed this knocking noise? Any help or insight would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Is it knocking or just ticking?

Ticking is pretty common in 911s across the generations. Knocking is a whole different ball game. Video would help.

Does it sounds like chirping crickets? A lot of 992 owners have that, we're all being told it's "normal"

Heard mostly on low throttle or when coming off of throttle at low speeds.

That's what I'm afraid of. Thanks.

I haven't noticed that. I wouldn't describe it that way. I only seem to be hearing it at idle. Thanks!

Thanks for sending that over. That isn't what I'm hearing, but I'll definitely be listening for it now. Thanks again!

Do you have any fuel additive in your tank currently? Do you have 93 Octane gas? Was reading those might be good areas to start with. https://blog.firestonecompleteautoca...gine-knocking/
