SunCoast offers a custom carpet mat to place under the back window. It might protect that area from intense sunlight. expansive back window custom mat with your choice of colors for carpet and logo mat in place covering back shelf
I've flirted with picking one of those up, but I already have a $9 Harbor freight moving blanket, with deviated stitching, to protect everything when I put cargo back there.
I used it to protect everything when I moved my daughter back into school in Oklahoma, using the 911.
The blanket isn't to cover the cargo. It's to cover and protect the interior.
As for security, when loaded up, I empty everything out at night, because you don't want anything in your car that's visible.
Tint isn't going to stop a smashed window if there's something in your car that looks even remotely valuable. I am not even talking conventionally "valuable". For example, I had an employee in San Francisco that had his window smashed, because he left a sweatshirt in the back seat. They took the sweatshirt. His windows were tinted. They broke into his car for the sweatshirt.
yeah, I responded more to the first poster, since he said it was to protect the area from intense sunlight....
I get your blanket... good match with the interior!!
I have a custom fit piece of black luggage by Roadsterbag. It’s meant to be a suit bag, and it’s only a couple inches thick. As it happens, the color and stitching match my interior. This solution is hella cheaper, so thanks for posting.
On a separate note, has anybody retro fitted the seat back luggage stops? I bought one to check it out, but there is no way to attach it.

I put one in when I bought my Lloyd Mats. I put it back there less for protection from sunlight (as I have tinted windows), but more for when I throw something back there - it is a pain in the but to vacuum it out. With the fixed cargo mat, I can yank it out, vacuum it and put it back in.
Damn, Suncoast making a fool out of me!
I swear it went off-site for 3 weeks, right when I went to place my order.
I called and I swear they said discontinued!
So I called Lloyd Mats and they sent me carpet samples -- now just waiting
for my C4S to match the samples. 'Track Your Dream' shows my car just
300 miles from Port, and 2 days from dealer -- hope to have her by Saturday!
Dang Malibu, looks like Suncoast no longer offers the color you have.
Now, you have to get black, but with color border and color stitching.
I wanted the tan mat, like yours, to match my seats
