Seems cheap but if it does the job then should be fine!
Insurance companies over here giving them out two a penny with policies now, no wording in the policy that you have to use it, just a pretty little pouch with the company logo on it that if used may stop someone scanning your keys.
this is the last one that arrived some time last year, tea spoon for size comparison.
yes, it does actually work, takes a 911 and macan key at the same time, fits in the wife’s bag easily.
if it’s for where you store the keys, I made a thin ply divider for our draw, lined the key bit with copper mesh, the countertop is poured into aluminium mesh. We did a test, blocks pretty much all signals, so the desired effect.
This is probably not very helpful, but I don't like extra bulk in my pockets. I don't even carry house keys on my car key. Only a key fob for something to hold onto.
I probably wouldn't be super concerned with someone scanning my pockets and getting the key data from it and then stealing my car. If that did happen, that is what insurance is for. But that's just me.
Thanx! Did you test sitting in the car rather than from the house? I gather some RF detectors/sniffers are now good for 100 meters...

On the wife’s older discovery sport.... stopped the signal.
The 911 was ordered on purpose without comfort access, the macan won’t open when we tried it with the pouch. Draw blocks mobile signals so hopefully good for her keys.
I think the pouches break down over time so might be worth replacing once a year.
Just getting a feel or what folks think of this and the likely danger of RF emissions being intercepted. Probably not high where I live but in sunnier climates with sprawling high end malls...wouldn't take long to scan/decode and burn a new key onto a clean FOB

If somebody is clever enough to scan the key, then find my car, and able to drive off with it, then I’ll need to rely on my insurance company. It seems like a lot of fuss unless you live in a high car theft area with chop shops. Would a 911 even be high on the list?
I doubt these go to chop shops. They go to the nearest conex and from there to the closest port and shipped out. It's not my biggest concern, its just one that for 12 bucks (rather than crests on my seats) I can part with to live the good life.
Loads of cars where I live in the UK get the keys scanned through the front door (don’t leave your keys by the front door 🙄 and then driven away.
It’s mostly Range Rovers, was BMW before that.
They get driven to a secure site, left for a while to see if a tracker is running, then plate change, put in a container and sent off to Eastern Europe or the Middle East.
Who new Albanian gangsters liked RHD cars so much 🤣
