Has anyone here compared the 4 way vs the 14 way seats? I cannot find a 992 locally with 4 ways...
I drove a 991 with 4 way then I drove a 992 with 14 ways yesterday.
I was blown away by the 992. That S is a beast. But the 4 way seat bottom was MUCH more comfortable. The 14 way pinched just a bit. For reference I am 6-6” 330#
Otherwise, the 992 had a touch more shoulder room and both I felt had plenty of headroom.

I’m a big guy 6’2” 300 and I prefer the 4 way
had them in my 991 and have ordered them for my new 992
I just go with the 4 way, no one else drives my car so when I set the seat it stays there
also I think there is a weight savings and I’ve done several cross country’s and they have always been very comfortable

I have this same dilemma. I had 14 ways on my 991.1 and thought they were great, but I haven’t been able to find 4 ways to try to confirm the 14 aren’t overkill.
Sounds like you guys are both tall as well. I’m 6’3” so my worry is that the lack of seat cushion tilt control on the 4 ways will mean most of my thighs don’t touch the seat.

I assume this is about the stock sport seats not the sport plus. I am 6'1 and my 4 way sport plus seats are very comfortable even driving 11 hours in them.

Although I haven’t yet had a chance to sit in the different 992 seats yet but there are noticeable visual differences between the 991 and 992 seats so comparing them wouldn’t be ideal when deciding on which seat is best in the 992. For a 992, I’m considering the 4 ways over 18 ways (sport plus seats are best for my build) as I have had both in 981 and 991.2 cars and know that the multiple adjustments for the seats ended up never being used. Saying that, since the OP is a bigger guy I have a few considerations worth mentioning :
1) the power seats include thigh extensions which could be useful and not available on 4 ways
2) the 4 ways are easiest to use for exit and entry since sliding the seat back and forth can be done quickly (not sure this matters when one is 6’6”!)
3) some have suggested that seats without ventilation are a little softer feeling - I wouldn’t consider getting seats without this option but for those that do, it’s worth mentioning.

to answer your question: I did not feel any difference in the seat bottom for thigh support when the 18 way thigh support is not extended.

Well, without finding a 4 way to try out, I went ahead and ordered a 2021 992 with 4 way sport seats a few weeks ago.
I will try to remember to come back to this thread and answer my own question in a few months!
this wait is gonna suck
hope it will be be worth it !

Are you asking about the length of the seat bottom ? To clear things up, 4 way sport seats are the same shaped seats as 14 way sport seats and 4 way sport plus seats are the same as 18 way sport plus seats. The additional control of the 14 and 18 ways being control of lumbar support, thigh support (length of seat bottom) and narrowing of the side bolstering for butt/thighs as well as back. I was able sit in the 4 way sport seat and an 18 way sport plus seat in the 992.

interesting ... does the back of the seat actually go lower on the multi way seats or is it the ability in increase the height of the front of the seat. My experience in the 991.2 with having both the 4 way sport plus in one car and the others with the 18 ways, the position of the 4 ways was perfect for me and I didn’t feel that I needed or wanted to lower the back of the seat (and never raised the front in the 18 ways). Not being tall (5’9”) would clearly play into this. While I’m awaiting an allocation, I will try to get back into a few seats to compare again as I definitely want to get the seating right. The right seat is far more important to me than saving the $3+ For the 4 ways sport plus seats.

I'm 6'3 and 200#. Faced with the same dilemma, I recently tried both. The 14/18 ways are the way to go for me, by a lot. As mentioned, you can create more angle on the seat bottom (not sure if lower back, higher front, or both). This to me makes the biggest difference for taller drivers.
Also, with the 4 ways, your hammies will be floating above the leading edge of the seat if you are on the tall side. The extension on the 14/18 solves this for me.
Lastly, I have seen it mentioned that with the 4 way, the passenger side rear view mirror does not automatically point down in reverse. Curb rash protection might be enough to sway some folks.
