The hot keys are for homellink and the back up camera - I use a line on the garage floor to determine how far to pull in and can see it in the camera.
I've have rather tight length and width restrictions to navigate in my garage (to many other toys). So I'm using the following Laser Pointer that is plugged into my Garage Door Opener Light. Open the garage door and "X" marks the spot.

I'd like to get really close to the garage door opening as I enter. Does the laser guidance kick in before I'd reach the opening? Once I pass the opening I'm pretty much in the clear.
After almost 16k miles, this is what I have settled on for the Home screen -- it keeps media and CarPlay in easy reach.
For the side widget, I have Homelink and the media controls, which is helpful for when I am using CarPlay.
Shortcuts? Steering wheel Diamond is parking assist, Diamond 1 is PCM on/off, Diamond 2 is Exhaust.
how did you get the dynamic weather icons into the favorites tile?

I plugged mine into one of the Garage Door Opener Lamp Sockets. This way the Lasers come on the instant the Garage Door starts to open. Then they remain on for as long as I have the Garage Door Opener Lights programed to remain on. In my case this is something like 5 minutes.
The Laser comes with instructions and an outlet that screws into the Garage Door Opener Lamp Socket. I used one like the attached picture so that I could keep both of the two Garage Door Opener Lamps my Garage Door Opener comes with and this Laser.
There are two Laser Beams. Each Laser Beam can be aimed completely independently of each other. You don't have to aim them to make an "X" the way I did. The Laser Module itself comes with more than enough of a power cord to place it just about anywhere. If you want to aim one or both Laser Beams so they hit your car when it's sitting out in the driveway, before you enter the garage, I don't see any reason why you couldn't do that. You just don't want to aim them at an angle, such that someone might accidentally look at the Laser Light directly.

For those of you who add a CarPlay Widget - do you know you can use the Widget for other things and just press here for CarPlay? Yes, the button is very small, but it also takes you directly to CarPlay.

Yep, I just prefer a bigger touch target when I am driving.
i understand. But how do you select the alternate version with the icons and local temp in the Home Screen editor?
In the center top of home screen there are three bars and down arrow. This opens a drop down menu with home screen management functions. From there you can select functions for home screen listed on right then drag and drop. Once you get the weather widget on home screen click the widget while still in home screen editor to see the display options.

Yup. That and if you see any little white bars below the selection, once you have tentatively placed it on the Home Screen, when you're building the Home Screen, that means there is more than one possibility to choose from in that selection. Just swipe the selection left or right to see what the options are for that particular selection.
