My feeling was that the GB was great on overcast days (looked like NB) but during sunny days it just seemed too bright and garish - My opinion only
Flipside is that NB is sublime in the sun but looks a little more black on dark days.
I love my choice and would order again in a heart beat.
A little more maintenance but worth it
This color really stands up to the test of time. This is my 997.2 Turbo which is now 10 years old and I just added a Night Blue Metallic Macan GTS......hoping they will make babies and a 992 will magically appear in the garage
997usa very nice. Seeing all these night blue cars reassures me I’m making good choice. Thank-you.
My only uncertainty about the build is the Front Axle Lift System. I would really like to delete it, but am unsure.
I had FAL on my 991.2 C4S w/SPASM and used it all the time - FAL is a reasonable thing to consider on 911s with a fixed spoiler (especially a GT3 but I'd bet many skip it just to reduce weight). I had FAL on my 991.2 TTS and realized it wasn't necessary thanks to the retractable front spoiler. I ordered SPASM on the 992 TTS and also ordered FAL because I was unsure. Now that I've gotten the 992 I believe FAL is not necessary (even w/SPASM) on the 992 TTS. Moreover, FAL uses up one of those precious physical buttons above the middle air vents. I think I might have gotten a configurable diamond "smart" button if I had skipped FAL and I wonder if I could have configured it to disable auto start/stop. That would be worth it. Any 992 TTS owners have PSE+SPASM but not FAL? If so, what's the physical button setup like?

Not exactly what you asked, but if you setup your Individual mode, you can set everything to match the Normal settings, but disable Stop/Start. Turn on car, change to Individual mode, and you're done. Alternatively, which you likely already know, Sport mode disabled Stop/Start.
I have SPASM and FAL on my build...I think about cancelling FAL but my wife says we never know what driveway or parking garage we may want to enter, so keep it. She's smart.
My 2008 997 C4S Cab is Midnight Blue and I was sure I wanted it again but decided on Gentian. I like that is it richer and has more pop in the sun the the Midnight Blue and that it can still look deep and rich at night and under cloud cover, whereas I feel like the current Midnight Blue got darker (maybe to differentiate from the Gentian more) and it is almost too dark. I realize that in some light the Gentian will be really vibrant but I think I am ok with that.

You can't really go wrong either way. Gentian is a spectacular color, but has a lot of purple in it, so under certain angles / light conditions, it comes across a lot more purplish than blue imo. Night blue (not midnight blue anymore since the 997) is darker, and has more darker bits in it... it looks a bit dirtier than gentian but is a more 'honest' blue in my opinion. Either color fits the 992 very well.

spasm and fal go hand in hand. I have neither and have no issues. Have a spasm loaner at the moment, quite a few scrapes in the past few days

My 997 C4S Cab is Midnight Blue, which might be a touch lighter than the current 992 Midnight Blue. Did Porsche darken the color with the introduction of Gentian?
I was set to order a 992 C2S Coupe in Midnight Blue but have decided on the Gentian instead as it is richer. I worry it might be too bright but what I have seen of it, it seems to be a dazzling color and in some lighting still dark and rich instead of vibrant and lighter, giving more variety than the Midnight Blue has.
Having seen midnight blue next to Gentian blue, Midnight is definitely a darker tone, but super nice. Seems much darker and deep of a color in shade, dark, or cloudy days, but much brighter under light or the sun. That is probably true for most metallic colors anyway.
As far as the front lift system being a "need", I must say that if you are a careful and conscious driver with a big of common sense, you will not scrape the front ever if not at least 99% OF THE TIME. I am on my 2nd 911 and I am yet to touch the front with anything on the road or scrape it in any way. Not sure how other people have managed, but it is certainly something useless to ME PERSONALLY. YMMV......
Totally agree. Barring some essentially vertical driveway, you'll be fine. I go over speed bumbs and humps all the time and don't bottom out or drag the lip at all. I think FAL is, for most people and in most 911s (so, for example, maybe I would get it on the GTS), really superfluous.
