Re taping, actually, they way the process works is that the entire wheel is powder coated and then they have a polishing bit that polishes/cuts the most outer surface. That also creates this „line profile“ that you see w polished wheels (same as OEM). And it removes any minor curb rash if you would have that...

Well that certainty makes a lot more sense than what I was imagining in my head LOL!
