So, the Item in Panorama was in the tech section, relating to the engine oil in a GT4 and asking if A40 oil could be used or if only C40 (the spec required to protect GPFs) is OK. The response was as stated, all MY 21+ need C40, since they have the gas particulate filter system. Maybe they changed their minds, but that is what the mag says . . .

My 2021 does NOT have a GPF. It is just a CAT and is the same size as the Soul cat I installed. There is no GPF inside. Here is what it looks like from the Turbo end.

The question remains if we will get PF for MY 22 or if we won't get them until the facelift 992.2

Immediately following the catalysts in the flow of the exhaust gases. It's probably useful to think of an Exhaust Particulate Filter as an Air Filter in the exhaust stream that attempts to cause the air leaving the engine to be as particulate free as the air entering the engine after passing through the Intake Air Filter.

Is it possible at some point the '21-s will start showing up with EPF-s, given that it's already in the reference materials?

GPF costs more than just a cat. Porsche won't spend the money unless it is required by the EPA/CARB. Check the EPA/CARB rules and that will tell you when we get GPF. Porsche won't just do it without a good reason.

No, not possible! It IS possible that we may see them in a few years as the particulate emissions standards get progressively more stringent.

It is interesting that the 718 GTS and 992 Turbos have them for the US market and not the non-Turbo 992's.
