That hourly rate seems extremely low. Maybe $230?

Why would there be an error if it’s a simple cap swap?

Im guessing its because the LCA disconnects and throws a fault that can only be reset via the WIZ.

Makes one wonder if you disconnect the battery if you can avoid that though.

You’re right, I misunderstood the guy at the dealership. The labor is $180 an hour.

I guess I’ll just do it myself.

Now I know this particular guy at the dealership is taking me for a fool, because when I said 10hrs seem a little excessive, he said the door panels have to come off.

If he keeps this up, how do I set him straight? Should I talk to the service manager?

Id suggest you call your local Porsche auto body shop and see how much they would charge. They replace broken mirrors all day long and are typically cheaper for body part installs.
What BIGWORM said. 10hrs is BS and must include lunch at the best restaurant for the Service Mgr and the whole tech team too! Shy I had my old dealer put Techart CF Sport Design mirrior on my old 991.1 and they didn't go that hard on me. Charged me like 4 hrs total I think and that was changing from OEM mirrors to Sport Design ones. 10 hrs is just outrageous and I'd kindly let them know that if that is the case...they would NO LONGER be my dealer!
