Just wondering if anyone knows how long the cars typically stay at the port before starting the next stage of the journey to the dealerships? I also assume that they are transported in an enclosed truck, is that correct?
I don’t have the Track Your Dream and am trying to estimate when my car will reach my dealer in British Columbia, Canada.
Thanks!
My C4 shipped from Halifax to Calgary in an enclosed truck. Timeframe back in July was 6 days from the time the Siem Confucius left Halifax. Your dealer can confirm whether shipping to Vancouver is by enclosed truck, but GM here says all 911s come that way.
Followers of this SIEM ARISTOTLE voyage, this is where I depart following this journey to BALTIMORE. My Targa, will exit the vessel, and be on route to Porsche Cherry Hill, New Jersey. For all of my fellow cruisers, enjoy your car and this TYD JOURNEY. If anyone wants to continue this thread, GO FOR IT.
For anyone interested, this video is very interesting in documenting the world journey of the world's largest car carrier. No Porsche's are featured or any VW group make for that matter as the German port of call was Bremerhaven and not Emden. There were mostly BMW's, Mini's, Nissan's, and MB's. It was very interesting, especially on all the thought needed to balance the ship's weight and it's journey through the Panama Canal. Nonetheless, it gives you guys an idea how our cars are shipped from Europe.
At this time, although a little late, my Targa has reached its vessel’s destination. I too will say goodbye, for now. Enjoy your cars, and this documented ship’s journey.
