Is the peace of mind that comes with CPO for 5.5 years on low mileage 2020 992 worth it ?
one would think that most issues would happen within the first 2-3 years.
Thoughts?

Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for CPO on a low miles 992 that didn't already have CPO included.

Always nice to have peace of mind. What's a consumer paid CPO cost these days for a 992?

It really depends.
If you are the type to buy an extended warranty and will only keep the car up to the end of said warranty, depending on the price it might be worth it.
Also the discounts you are getting these days on a used 992 are not that great and in some cases a used 992 can be close to the price of a new car - having it at least CPO'd does make it a little more worthwhile.
Finally a car that is or even was CPO's will often command more attention should you need to resell as it implies (whether it is true or not) that it is a better quality car.
At the end of the day it depends on what it costs you. If you settle on a nice price on a used 992 and then manage to essentially throw in a CPO then it might be worth it

If its the warranty and well-being of the car you are worried about I would also look into leasing the car.... could be a better deal but do so research.
