The USA, Myanmar, and Liberia are the only countries in the world who use the imperial system. Just saying

It makes your car feel faster as the numbers go by more quickly. 😜
Having driven/ridden non-US market vehicles in the US, I’ve gotten used to it. Odometers can make things interesting, but you’ll find that most motor vehicle laws want you recording the odometer digits regardless of the units for titles, registration, etc
I didn’t see it mentioned, but is your odometer in miles or kilometers?

Is the inability to switch from kph to mph a "new" tweak to the 992 PCM. My 991 was able to easily switch via the PCM in less than a minute. Also could switch metric temperature etc. individually. I'm in Canada but when travelling to the USA switched to mph and mpg. Fuel "mileage" was also available in mpg (US), mpg (UK), l/100km, and km/l.
I believe I remember that you had to have sport chrono to access all of this (Could be wrong though) I had previously bought two 997s from the states and again had no trouble switching the digital speedo to kph from mph.
I know a lot of Brits take their cars to the continent and have routinely switched from mph to kph for their vacations.
Hard to believe they eliminated that simple ability.

I agree with your decision. For only $5,000 in savings, just order what you want. I'm sure you can find most of the saving trimming back a couple of options the Canadian car had that you wouldn't have chosen.

Hope this helps others in the same situation, or even better, ones who got a great deal on a Canadian (or American for Cannucks) car and now can have a dealer fix the situtation!

Naw , Canadian cars still smell like maple syrup … keep buying your Freedom-spec versions , we will make sure our cars get used. 😂

Well as I recall old Tricky Dicky said in 71 or so that we would change over to the metric system... so I would just wait as I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I really wish we'd go and join the rest of the world and go metric as I'm currently running Celsius for temps, PSI for pressure, MPH for speed and MPG for fuel
I can't however believe that this can't be changed via software in PIWIS - a winter project no doubt.

Reviving this thread because ingenuity can overcome even what the HQ overlords deem impossible. Froze my purchase of a beautiful 992 Carrera S 2020 for the same reason. Turns out that the brilliant team at Porsche St Paul recognized that by changing the country code for the car, they could convert the central gauge speedometer to MPH. Back on track with purchase and hope to have my first Porsche sometime this week after ceramic and PPF applied!

I would start with the VOF in PIWIS and go from there. Another approach is to get a VAL and check all occurrences of country code within and change accordingly. Once you change all places, write and save, go back to main menu, select ALL modules and AUTO CODE. Let us know if this works
