Can anyone tell me what the default roof headliner material is on my (soon to be frozen) 2021 C4S order? Is it smooth or textured plastic, cloth? I know there is a Race Tex option I still have time to specify but not sure what it replaces. I have been in a number of 992's and can't recall or know what I saw is standard! I can't find any close-up photos.
Also wondered if the Roof Tex makes any difference to interior noise.
The A, B, and C pillars are covered in a cloth similar to what Audi uses. Better quality than what BMW uses IMHO. The 992's are different from 911's from the past. Before, the standard headliner was always Alcantara with plastic pillars. Full leather would add Alcantara pillars in the 991. Here is a sort of close up pic of a B pillar.
That is a super useful image, many thanks! Gives me a better idea of the texture of the default cloth fabric.
I have been pondering updating my order to a Roof Tex headliner but mainly due to any ambient sound deadening benefits. Otherwise, I have no real attachment to the Alcantara/Roof Tex look. However, the cloth texture appears at least marginally similar in not being a hard surface in terms of sound reflection/absorption properties.
