Wheel and Tire Protection
Nope, on my policy windshield for the 992 was around $300/yr extra with a $250 deductible...and you can be SURE they would cancel the coverage after 1 claim.
I've said it before and I will say it again -- part of adult car ownership is finding a good wheel repair guy. You can have a lot of wheels repaired for the cost of that premium that the dealer is pushing upon you.
For folks looking in the Philly area, Nick is my guy... http://www.straightenswheelrepair.com/
He's excellent at what he does. Very reasonable. Plus, he drives a Porsche 911 Turbo with HREs.

Declined the dealer tire/wheel protection (> $1.5K IIRC). 3 months later pothole = flat + scratched wheel + (maybe unnecessary) alignment. The tire and scratch repair were < $500, but the alignment (which would not have been covered anyway) was $700 from the dealer (including some camera alignment). Still glad I didn't buy the dealer coverage, but maybe 2 more replacement tires and I might have a different opinion.

Have you actually submitted a claim for a replacement tire with Tire Rack? You have to get preauthorization to get a replacement tire. How the hell how does that work? So you're essentially stuck without a fourth tire for days (up to 5 according to Tire Rack) before you even get a decision on whether you can get the replacement cost of your tire reimbursed? And then if you do get authorized, you then have to either (1) figure out a way to get your car to a tire shop or (2) order the tire you need, or (3) both.
Seems like a pain in the *** the more I read about it.
