Whatever shipper you use, insist that they load your car closest to the BACK of the Truck.
Driver usually makes several stops to drop off other cars at other locations along his route.
As the rear-most Car, yours will not require being started up and moved off and on the Trailer
each time he stops to drop off other cars.
well, didn't think about requesting this and not sure how this would work. thanks for the suggestion - i will keep it mind for my 911 turbo s purchase someday
Interesting post and a good idea. However i am having a tough time visualizing how they would load or unload cars off a truck's trailer without moving the most rearward vehicle. Are the trailers loaded and unloaded from the front?
Or did you mean to suggest that they transport the vehicle in the foremost spot on the trailer closest to the truck's cab?
good questions. i don't know either; too late for my vehicle (it's already on the truck and somewhere in the midwest), but something i will consider researching for my next long-distance vehicle purchase
omfg! 14%off!
congrats on your new car!
May I ask for the contact of your sales guy?
Based on your last name I assume u speak Chinese too?
i don't speak chinese :-)
sales person i worked with is john suh @ porsche westwood in westwood, MA. outstanding customer service (not just because of the 14% off) - john is highly recommended; definitely a cut above other sales agents. you can reach him on (781) 234-2150.
note that i got this deal on a 2020 that had been sitting on the lot for 1 year. it was registered as a demo, but had only 20 miles on it. i was lucky in that it had all the important options and the right color combination; my first choice was silver/black - but we have 2 other silver porsches and the boss (aka my wife) suggested i go with a different color for this one.
Just had my 911 delivered from California to Texas with Plycar. Plycar took amazing car of my car and it arrived on the early side of my delivery window. The only compliant I would say is that communication with the pickup could have been better - the seller essentially received just a 6 hour notice that the truck was coming and I am sure it would have been nice to have gotten more advanced notice for both his sake and mine. But the pickup, transport, and the delivery itself could not have gone any better. Their prices were also $500 less than Reliable and just $200 more than the cheapest quote I got through Uship. My contact was Jim Ferzoco (631-478-2217) and he is super responsive via text. I'm sure there are other carriers that will safely deliver your car but I am just sharing my experience.

About how much was it? I may be doing the opposite - DFW to San Diego.

The fee from CA to DFW was $1800. The quotes I got from Uship carriers always had fees tacked on to them, they would say it was $1700 but then there was $150 "blah blah blah" fee - it just wasn't a straight deal. I am totally not affiliated with Plycar in any way and there were some frustrating moments during the transaction but they were straight with me and the actual car pickup, transport, and delivery aspect was excellent. I would use them again with a high-end car.
I think the most frustrating thing about shipping my car across the country was finding a place to meet the guy because my neighborhood is full of low hanging branches and he didn’t want to drive the car carrier in there, so I had to find some neutral location behind a Lowe’s where he could park without getting a ticket and offload the vehicle.
