No 992 C2S Allocations available in NA
So, they gave you a better discount if you took a Jan delivery? Interesting.
Well, I asked for more if I accepted Jan delivery instead of waiting for a later production slot...and they agreed to it. Winters are pretty tame in terms of snow here these days so hopefully I can even drive a bit before spring hits!
Best of luck on the delivery.
Cool, it is a great city regardless of the times! Sorry to hear as that sounds like fun job...I live for the Hawks...
It is a great city. I love the architecture. Most people don’t realize that the first skyscrapers, were built in Chicago, from steel...after the great fire. Most think it started in NYC. They would be wrong. My father was born and raised in Chicago, and we visit, often...even in the Winter. Cold weather doesn’t bother me, at all. From Boston. I am a big Jazz/Blues music fan, so enjoy going to nightclubs to take in a set, or two.. Both of my boys played hockey - high school and youth hockey - so into hockey, as well. Been to quite a few Hawks games.

So my SA says that they should get me a C2S allocation this month. In hopes of being able to get the first C2S allocation the dealer gets, I put down a small deposit which is refundable. Am I hearing that there is almost no chance of getting a C2S allocation in the near future? If that is true, I may start looking for a CPO 991.2 or hope to find a dealership with a MY 2021 C2S with as close to my desired specs as possible (if any dealers have MY21 C2Ss that are not spoken for) when the new ones come in. I just hate to compromise on a $135k car.

Unless you’ve played, most don’t appreciate how difficult hockey is. I remember we had this kid in high school who was an all star athlete for our HS football team (all County, all state), and then in the Winter, transitioned to our HS hockey team. I remember him telling me that he thought he was in great shape after football season was over...but he found out how out of shape he really was during the practices...he threw up many times during practice. He could easily bench press his body weight, but couldn’t do line to line sprints for more than a minute.
Allocations are being made. As I posted a few days back, I received my C2S allocation last week after a one-month wait. Promptly thereafter, I received my TYD link. The only catch is that it isn't scheduled for delivery until April. So I would say that allocations are out there to be had (although apparently in short supply), and production schedules are a bit slower than normal (presumably due to the ongoing pandemic).

In my case, my local AD (Gaudin Porsche, Las Vegas, NV) happens to be on the list, which might explain why I was able to receive my allocation last week after a one-month wait, while others seem to still be waiting. Again, just pure conjecture on my part.

Definitely try calling around. I called 5 dealerships before I got an allocation (C2S)-- I was able to take an allocation that they were using as a dealer-build car and make it what I wanted. I put the deposit down on 9/23 and had my comm. number that afternoon (and my car was originally slated to begin production in mid-November, but will be completed this coming Friday). best of luck
