Default Another drag race: base 911, C8 and GT500

Edmunds just did a drag race between the base 911, the C8 Corvette and the Shelby GT500:

I am surprised how well the base 911 did against the C8!

If you've been wondering why we're not getting a 3 pedal manual with the base engine, this kind of thing is why. Porsche isn't willing to make a "slow" 992. The market is obsessed with 0-60 times.

Any idea why they would not at least test with the "S"? Seem like a huge oversight (or perhaps calculation) when the other cars have over 100(+) hp more!

I think it actually makes more sense to compare the base C8 with the base 911.

S would be more inline with the Z06

GT500 on the other hand is Ford’s top trim. So my guess is also price.

I'm thinking the z06 is going to beat the S, but I'm not totally sure. Price wise, the ZR-1 is probably more in line with the C2S based on MSRP, but I'd expect massive ADMs at first on those cars.
