Default Help with my 992 build!

Hi everyone-

I am in the process of ordering another Porsche, and would love your thoughts on my build specs -- PMFGHMQ1.! Please let me know if there is anything you would add or remove.

Thanks!

Classic Chalk build. Fairly disciplined. I too went with the Premium and Sport Packages. Power Steering Plus is a an underrated feature that is helpful at high and low speeds. Enjoy the car!

I currently have 14 way seats in my 991, but am thinking about doing away with them and doing the 4-way sport seats and doing full leather with contrast stitching in chalk. I don't think it makes sense to go over $140k for an S, so trying to keep it around there.

If you are the only driver I would absolutely go with the 4 way but I actually prefer the sports seats plus and in the S they are only 400 more rather than 800 in the base

Can you expand, My understanding is that it is only a benefit at low speed and has no effect at high speed (as it shouldn't)

"Power steering Plus is a speed sensitive power steering system. At high speeds, the steering firms up and responds with greater precision, while steering comfort remains outstanding. At low speeds, the steering ratio adjusts for easy maneuvering and parking."

I understand what you quoted but I am not sure that that is necessarily correct.
Power steering makes low speed turning easier for parking etc but just leaves the high speed steering native and what you are feeling is the natural firmness of the steering at high speeds that is the same with or without power steering plus.
If you want to get power steering plus for parking lots etc go for it but it will not make high speed steering any better - its already very good.

I have PS+ because to maneuvre into my garage takes a lot of turning but if I did not have that situation I would not get it

Looks awesome. I would skip the over priced carbon roof and power seats and go with glass roof (or no sunroof) and add leather interior and manual sport seats. That should keep you within $140k.

Very similar build to mine. I would delete the PDLS+, PS+, and add Sport Tex Leather with 4 way Sport Plus seats. Don't need ventilated seats with Sport Tex. Will put you a little over $140K but worth it.

I love the look of carbon, so am not going to delete that. I would delete the 14-way and do full leather. I wonder if that will affect resale?

For some reason I really don't like the feeling of sports tex, the PDLS is in the package. I think I may change to the 4-way sport seats.

Resale is complicated. While there are certain features (lack of Sports Chrono, PSE) that might steer a real Porsche fanatic away from a car the reality is that most buyers do not really care that much about options.
Also options tend to become worthless fairly quickly and so you will find that the selling price of a four year old car that had 10K of options will not be that far away from one that had 30K of options and so in general if you are worried about resale value stay away from ALL options as they alll lose you money relatively speaking

My rule is buy and spec the car that I want to drive and not to worry about resale value

Love the way your build looks! I would add extended range fuel tank. I think it’s neat that a sports car can hold as much fuel as my Range Rover

When I submitted my build to the dealer the sales guy asked me two questions (stuff that looked off to him): You sure you want manual? and Why not add the Bose sound system? To the first I said YES and to the second I asked does the car come with speakers? He said yes, so I said that's good enough. Unless you are an extreme audiophile, I do not get the reason to pay anything for the sound upgrades, especially given their premium prices. If you are only getting that because it's part of the premium package, make sure that the stuff you actually want individually from the package is not cheaper outside of it, PDLS in my opinion is another unnecessary option.

Btw Nick Murray has a really good video on youtube reviewing all options of the 992 including calculating individual prices of the premium package.
