Why in heavens name do they want windows down but sunroofs fully closed? Makes no sense to this 30-year veteran official of motor sport from Australia.....I often ran with my roof cracked open and windows up there. But hey, their rules I guess.

AWE made the most OEM looking ones for the 991's. We are waiting on them to make a 992 version.

You would think AWE would have come up with their design if able as the 992 has been out for over a year...Anybody contact them to see if it is in the future?... We had the AWE on our 991.2 which was great... Blackmill brand looks like an after thought...Peel & Stick.

The most common answer I've heard for this is "ease of extraction in event of a crash.." As if, should you need extraction, the windows won't already be shattered. But hey. I guess corner workers and safety personnel don't carry pocket knives with glass-breakers on them like the rest of us.

A lot of the groups I track with require hand signals for point-bys, so, that's one reason why the driver's side has to be fully down. I wish everyone would go to windows-up and using turn signals for point-bys, or at least have that as an option for cars that actually have turn signals.

I don't get the whole point-by thing to be frank. We gave that away in Australia years ago when window nets became more common, never had an issue afterwards and yeah corner workers and FIV crews would have bigger problems than a window if they needed to extricate someone manually. If they do need to break a window an old spark plug does the trick.

We're happy to supply the Blackmill wind diffusers. We offer them as they have the most effective design to minimize buffeting. They are noticeably more aggressive / less OEM in appearance but - in the words of our customers - are the more effective solution.

Do you have a more "zoomed out" photo of those on a 992? Or really even a 991. I'm curious to how obtrusive they really are, looks-wise.

Surprised Porsche doesn't offer these in the configurator as an $800 option

Are the BM diffusers the same mold for 991 and 992?

The wind buffeting is called the Helmholtz resonance effect, essentially the same thing as blowing across the top of an open glass jar or bottle. It mainly occurs because the air is trapped. Hoping someone comes out with a good looking version that is inexpensive (basically the opposite of the bbi autosport wind deflectors).
