They basically tried to deny that the car even didn’t start. So i’ve decided this is the last time this dealer is going to touch my car, I’m going to give them a very bad review when I get called by Porsche, and I’m going to start seeing a new dealer for Service.

@992Sam If I may ask, and you may have already mentioned it, but who is/was your dealer that you brought the car to?

the dealer I bought it from.. Porsche Redwood City. I'm NOT at all impressed with their service writers, haven't been for a while... They also spilled both coolant and some oil in my engine access area, which the two prior oil changes done by independents didn't.

Probably too far from you, but I've had good experiences at Niello in Sacramento.

Damn, Sam! First, kudos on 10k ... I think I’m not even to 900mi thanks to the WuFlu and WFH. Second, sounds like a servicing dealership blunder as others have suggested. Your planned course of action seems prudent and you’re fortunate to have several options.

Enjoy the drive in spite of somebody’s stupid. You know what they call the doctor who graduated last in their class ... same applies to auto techs!

I wouldn’t necessarily crucify the dealer, it could be a coincidence and sometimes glitches happen. It doesn’t sound like there’s any proof. These cars are very complicated with a lot of sensors and computers, diagnosing problems sometimes requires guesses and process of elimination. I agree though , if in your shoes I would be really upset if I had evidence they found & corrected a problem and then denied it existed. If you’re upset with the dealer for different reasons, that’s different. Spilt oil and coolant doesn’t sound cool.

Corrosion can occur between the battery clamp and the terminal preventing any current from passing, even on new cars, especially when they are left standing for a few weeks. The negative terminal is susceptible in he case of this.

The cure is to clean the battery terminals and clamp then lubricate them with petroleum jelly/grease and then refit.

The 992 is just like any other car in that respect.

Best done by the dealer of course, if you are not used to working on cars.

Agreed. Frustrating situation, but I think it's unfair to give such bad feedback based only assumption. That dealer/SA may take a hit solely because there was a random glitch with the car.

Another consideration is that dealer is incentivized for something to be wrong so they can charge the OEM.

Not at all an issue, even the dealer didn't mention this...the battery terminals were like new...the car never sits, and we have no humidity issues in the SF Bay Area.

I assure you the overall concern this dealer has show for at least 3 glitches and warranty type issues I've brought this car in for has been completely unacceptable for any dealer, much less a Porsche dealer.. This is probably the 15th car I've owned in 30 years, and many have been Mercedes, BMW and other higher end brands.. I have a good understanding of what to expect. Furthermore, when I asked them to document and notify someone up the chain of this occurrence they essentially try to say "nothing happened" ... as if to insinuate that I made it all up. I draw a line there.
