PM's sent to Todd C, JSETarga, & drcarver.
Here are a few photos of a group my wife and I went with back around July 2004, and we had an awesome time.
Parked down below Fontana Dam, taking a group photo. Other people stopped to take pictures as well.
Parked along US129, taking a group photo
On the top of Cherohala Skyway.

My wife and I did rennsport rally last year in the Tail of the Dragon. Beautiful, and we plan to do it again in October. Hey, can you share your route? I'm in the Charlotte area, and we're thinking about doing the same - go for a nice drive, and maybe do a picnic somewhere.

Time and Meeting Place for Drive on 9/23
For those of you still planning on attending our drive on September 23rd, how many of you will be coming from the East basically (NC, etc.)? We still need a time and place to meet and since email hasn't worked as well as I hoped, I have decided to try the forum instead.
Since I am **assuming** most of you are coming from North Carolina, I think we might want to meet at Deals Gap parking lot? What time works best for everyone? It takes me about 2 hours to get to Deals Gap but I'm willing to leave my house at 7AM so I could arrive as early as 9AM.
Please let me know what time works for you and does Deals Gap make sense as a meeting spot? Thanks.
Russ

I have sent a few private emails to a couple of others to get them back on this thread so we can firm up our plans. So far, the weather for the 23rd is looking good; hopefully it will stay that way.

Teresa and I will running all around the area on the morning of the 23rd but we will be arriving at Deals Gap at 11AM to eat lunch so you can come then or we will still be there at Noon. Obviously I have the Guards Red 992 and she has a Blue Golf R. If you want to bring a friend, go right ahead as there won't be too many of us. Send me a PM if you don't have my cell number. Please let me know if you ARE or Are NOT coming so we have an idea of how many to expect.
