For roughly $1,300, if one of these would allow activating the full LED Matrix functionality I'd be totally down with a group purchase (i.e., a group buys one) and then sharing it. Not that I'd have any idea how to actually turn on the functionality.
It is active in Europe, but not fully active in the States. It’s simply a software, not hardware, change, When I first had coding done on my BMW by Bimmer Code, this change was just one of about 15 software changes in my code package....which cost about $150, if I remember correctly. I don’t know enough about Porsche’s system to say why this hasn’t been done before now? Maybe it’s a consumer demand / volume thing? But it really does boil down to checking, or unchecking boxes in a lengthy list of options. Super simple.
I just got a PIWIS III a couple of weeks ago but don't have a 992. I haven't had much time to play around with it but I did recode my battery, changed my oil and did the filling function to see how much oil to add until full, I also reset the service reminders. The most interesting things are all in German and I would need a friend who reads German or a lot time to translate all the coding options. There are a couple of things I would like to try on the 991.2 including recoding the LED lights like everyone wants to do on the 992.

I'd be in as well. Has anyone been able to persuade...wink,wink...bribe a Porsche Service tech to fully activate their Matrix functionality?

I had "Almaretto" code my M550 for this functionality, but required more than checking an on/off if I remember correctly. Also like coding a Video in motion, not just 1 parameter that had to be changed, but many. I've used the BimmerCode app, but it doesn't allow this turn on.

If you find out it is doable, I would assume there would be many in SoCal flocking to your door!!!!! Probably would recoup some of your outlay.

its a dongle, you insert it on the Obdii for 20 seconds and activate the video in motion, after that, you remove the dongle. Its always activated until you insert it again to remove the code.
the seller is not a sponsor here, I cant post the link
