Living with Chalk Day to Day
Hi all. I am trading in my Carmine Red 992 for a turbo s and am strongly considering Chalk (http://www.porsche-code.com/PMSN38E7). I'd like to get some feed back from folks who have a Chalk 992 and what it is like day to day. The few that I've seen looked spectacular in the bright sun and under the bright lights of the showroom. But what about other times? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Had chalk for 2 years on my Cayman. Agreed with Bigworm above. Does a nice job of hiding light dirt and dust like silver. Looks great clean and dirty, IMHO. Great color overall and, yes, you will get a lot of attention. Even 2 years in I get constant compliments on the color. People love it.
I like the color so much I almost got it again for the 992 but then decided I didn’t want the same color 2 cars in a row so I went with Miami Blue.

No regrets on mine, half a year in.
I previously had white, and while it looked spectacular clean, it definitely showed when it was dirty... the chalk it’s a more subtle difference, which is nice.
You mentioned you’re used to seeing chalk in bright light, it can be very cool the first time you have it out at twilight and it looks medium gray, almost like you have a completely different car.

I struggled with the decision to get Chalk or GT Silver... I drove my SA crazy but finally pulled the trigger on Chalk. I saw it on a earlier model Cayman and didn't care for it but for some reason on the body of the 992 it looks different to me in good way! It always is a head turner but doesn't scream at anyone. People always ask about the color. I'm really happy with it! On sunny days it looks more white, on cloudy days it brings out the subtle putty grey tones. Always looks clean too! Easy to care for!

Get what you like best. I’ve had chalk Cab for 10 months. Still enjoy it and would do it again. As someone else said, hides dirt and swirl very well, and looks somewhat unique. But, other colors look great to..:it’s all in the combo (wheels/interior) that make an exterior work.

Definitely go with chalk, you won't regret it. I get my car washed once a week, but I'm in between car wash companies right now so my car hasn't been washed in about 3-4 weeks, looks amazing and hides the dirt extremely well. Also it's a very unique color, any time someone compliments my car the first thing they bring up is the color!

I love Carmine. This is my third Carmine Red car. I'm not a red car fan, but fell in love with the richness of it. It does show my kids fingerprints though. Mentally, if I'm going to spend the money on a turbo s, I want it to feel "new" versus another Carmine Red car.

I have a Chalk Macan. I get more positive comments on it than I did on my GT Silver 991.2 with red top. My car is really dirty right now. When I mentioned the fact that it needed a good washing to a friend today, she said, "Really? It looks pretty clean to me."

I have a Chalk 991.2 GTS, for 2 years now, and have zero regrets. I still get compliments on the color when I take it out. Also lotsa head turning. Get it if you’re bored of white! It also looks great with black trim, wheels. Also indoors in the garage.
