Fewer than 500 miles in and reared its ugly head last week (although i suspect it's been there from the beginning). Passenger door speaker in my C2S Coupe. It's a very noticeable woofer rattle triggered only by the lowest of frequencies. In fact, I can play most music at a reasonable volume and not even notice it. BUT, when I switch over to one of my hip hop playlists and crank it up, BOOM, there it goes. A loud, repetitious, and buzzy rattle, right on the beat. Was easy to reproduce for the shop foreman last week (who says he's already seen a few and will most likely need to replace the speaker). Anyway, I dropped it off this AM to be fixed. In the grand scheme of things, a minor inconvenience. But annoying nonetheless.
Sorry to hear this; but as you say, a common problem and easy to fix (I believe it's generally door clips). However, do make sure you are totally happy with it afterwards as my Burmester is still rattly - it definitely spoils it.
Is there a recall for this issue or do you just have to wait until the Bose death-rattle appears and then bring your car in?
have not heard about a specific recall and my SA mentioned two distinct issues. One having to do with faulty or broken clips, and the other being a bad woofer/speaker requiring replacement. I’ll let you know what mine was once I hear back.
(btw hope all is good up there. This will be my first summer in 12 years where I won’t be making the trip
up there and out to Katmai. Bummed, but the virus just made the planning to difficult. Enjoy the beautiful AK summer)
there is a service bulletin - Bose issue with voice coils. Require woofer replacement. My car was brand new when it arrived with both doors woofers shot. Excellent QC, Porsche (and Blose).
FWIW I had the same exact issue with my '19 Cayenne. Front passenger door Bose speaker rattles like crazy for certain frequencies/heavier bass songs. First time they tried to fix it under warranty by adding sound deadening/investigate clips, issue got better but was still there. Got told today that they will order a replacement Bose speaker from Germany for full swap which I was glad to hear. Didn't hear of any campaign/bulletin/recall from my end though
Just a follow up to report that the speaker is now fixed. Needed to replace the passenger side door speaker/woofer. Dealer had the car for the better part of the week. One day to diagnose, two days to get the new speaker in house (guess Porsche won't let them order the speaker until they visually confirm replacement is needed), then another day to replace. Anyway, the buzzy rattle is gone and speaker back to good working order. The Bose sound is fine. Nothing to write home about, but meets with my somewhat tempered expectations. I was a little worried about damage to door, leather, etc. based on other posts, but after inspection, everything looks new and clean. Since a picture of a new speaker would be silly, here's a gratuitous shot of the car with my new clear side markers. A "gift" from my SA. Happy driving...

Replaced. Sounds respectable.
Pitiful. Absolutely pitiful. Even my Chevy Cavalier Z24 back in 1997 had superior audio. It shouldn't be this hard. Pathetic.
