Its about time!!! I've been waiting for this. And now that i know that Maria Sharapova (was that her?) is "so excited to see what the new version looks like" I just can't even wait.

How can you not buy something that's endorsed by Maria S? Seriously, our first 911 was a brand new 1987 Targa, which was my wife's daily driver. Since then, we've had cabs and coupes, but not another Targa. My wife's been talking about getting a Targa ever since Porsche went back to the classic Targa design. However, she won't give up her manual 997.2 C4S coupe. The car is 11 years old, still drives and looks practically new, and hasn't given us a bit of trouble. So, it looks like I'll be trading my Macan for a Targa next year, assuming they're offered with a manual gearbox.

Very excited about the 992 Targa 4S. I plan to order one as soon as I can place an order, maybe Monday? This will be my first Porsche purchase.

Question, do the dealers give any discounts on a new model order? Just this weekend I went to a dealership and they told me it would be two years, after the GT models, before I would see a Targa (ha and actually very dismissive). I assume you go through a dealership versus direct to factory?

look forward to more posts

many thanks,

many thanks,
You place your order through a Porsche dealership. There's no reason for you to have to pay MSRP on a Targa 4S, though each dealer will likely be different in the response you get to asking for a discount. I hope you have other dealerships to try than the one you already went to. To me, attitude is a very significant factor in my decision-making progress. If you let people on here know generally where you live you may get some recommendations. Best of luck!

There are plenty of leaked pix in other threads and around the internet -- fully undisguised. Here's a video that pops up in search results -

For the nosebleed prices these cars are certain to start at, it will be interesting to see how many people part with their hard earned stimulus money for one.
