Default Replaced Porsche Hood Crest

Continuing the Red and Black theme......

Jim from Carrera East created this gem for me with the factory guards red paint to match.

That is what I was thinking. Nice workmanship aside from the dimples not being replaced in the red/black piece, but somehow it takes away from the marque. To each his own though.

Completely agree. Two nuts 5 minutes to reverse. Also the dimples look more like a skin rash......

$120 for authentic .. $40 for the other that looks just as good..

i would suggest before anyone does it.. get a magnetic wand and angle the hood down once you start unscrewing the nuts.. i dropped my nut in the hood and was able to get it back out with the wand

It's definitely not $40.00. Price varies on the materials you select. The crest is actually an OEM piece. The colors are usually marine resin which does not fade or crack. I had the cheaper version on my 997 and in 6 months the red oxidized and the plating started to flake. Search for Carrera East and contact them.

If you switch back and want to move the black one, let me know. I may be interested.

As for the "$45 vs $120" one, has anyone had luck with the cheaper one holding up over time? Thoughts on the quality?

These are great.

My OCD would kick in if I can't redo the airbag crest as well. Do they offer that?
