I did talk to my dealer about it prior to delivery. They wanted £1000, seems a bit steep, but I suspect the quality of the job would be top notch (and warrantied). I may re-attack once I can actually drive my car.

I'll be honest - I'd just go aftermarket than alter the OEM wheels. They look good, don't get me wrong, but I'd be paranoid about durability of the finish.

Agreed. I wouldn't try and change OEM wheel color. Don't get me wrong...OEM wheels are nice, but there VERY nice aftermarket ones out there, and very high quality from the likes of Forgeline (I've had two sets...custom offsets and colors).

Agreed, a great set of aftermarket is going to be a lot more coin than a good powder coat. I have done dozens of wheels powered coated in the past, and they have all been great. No issues at all and a lot cheaper than going with a great aftermarket, which I have also done - but if you like the wheels and want a different color, powder coating is a great option, and likely more chip resistant than the OEM finish.

As I know most of aftermarket producers don't offer 992 wheels yet because of specific size. I’m talking about BBS, Advan, etc.
I have an experience with painting OEM wheels on my wife’s 971 Penny. Sportdesign 21 wheels originally was in silver, now they are gloss black with polished bands. Looks like oem.
For 992 cool option may be to paint RS wheels in car’s color.

OP, I would recommend having the wheels refinished in a Satin Black powdercoat. It'll be a nice combo with the color of your car + easy to keep clean.

Ain't that gorgeous? To me bling means brighter not darker - my R8 had polished wheels which were blinding in the sun!
Dealer refinished them before pickup so I'm not sure of the process but it's likely low bid silver paint + clear - not a perfect finish like the factory but they'll take a beating and probably need refinishing again in a few years anyway.
