Default Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser Autocar Interview

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/m...til-least-2030

Autocar article by Andrew Frankel:
  • 911 last Porsche to become electric, "hopefully after my retirement"
  • "it would be easier to make a completely new car" regarding hybridisation of the current 911
  • "We are aware of the feedback and have taken steps to address it" in response to 911 Turbo S reputation of not being the most enjoyable or engaging car
  • New "lightweight version" of Turbo and Carrera models planned, no confirmation for Carrera T
  • GT3 continues with the existing engine architecture, not the 4.0 of the 718
  • Doesn't see a business case for that engine in any 911 at present

Just make a Taycan coupe and call it a day. I actually think the Taycan looks fantastic. I just have no interest whatsoever in driving an electric car. I got a ride in an all-electric Audi e-tron SUV the other day and there's something about the way an electric car rides that reminds me of both Europe and mass transit. Like riding in a shuttle that takes you between terminals at a Eurpoean airport.

Driving the Taycan Turbo S was eye opening. Who knew a car with a 10 sec 1/4 mile and <2.5 sec 0-60 could be so boring?
