No RHD manuals ?

I’m based in New Zealand. I’ve for all intents and purposes told my dealer that once certain options I want become available, I’ll commit to a C2S.
One of those options was the manual box.
Ive just had a call from the dealer to say that they were told last week by Porsche NZ that they will not be bringing in any manual 911s.
i said that I’ll simply buy one in the UK and bring it to NZ.
He then said that he was of the understanding that there would be no RHD 911’s with a manual box, and that the manual option only exists in LHD to satisfy the North American market.
Someone please tell me that this is another case of a misinformed dealer ...!?!?!

It's been well established that the manual exists for the US market. Unlike other places in the world, our fuel economy requirements and emissions regulations aren't particularly ambitious right now. :P
I would not be surprised if Porsche's didn't bother with an RHD version.

I hope this isn’t true, being in the UK. I find it really surprising considering the demand for the 991 GT3 Touring.
it can’t be emissions related because mainland Europe is getting them.

Quite possible. BMW did the same with the E60 M5 and the only places you’ll find a manual 911 on the configurator are the US and Canadian sites. It’s not even on the German site.

I thought this fact has already come up in an interview with the new “Mr. 911”. I wish I could remember where I read it.

Hi Diss7,
Manual transmissions will be available in the United Kingdom for 992 Carrera S and 4S models, by mid 2020. I have left the link below if you wish to give it a read, it will hopefully put your mind at ease.
