Default Side Marker Replacement

I have ordered the white lens side markers from Sun Coast, which should be arriving shortly. After watching the you tube short video on the replacement process, it still isn't clear to me where the initial pressure should be applied to the existing lens. It has been mentioned on a prior post that a piece of short fish line helps, and I have some nylon derailer tools, but I'd appreciate if any of you could elaborate how any of you did this

I will try to explain. Looking at the inside of the light, there is a spring clip near the back and a tab or hook near the front. When pressure is applied to push the light towards the rear of the car, the spring will compress and the tab will release from its locating slot at the front. Grasp the pointed end at the front and wiggle the light toward you. Once you do one side, the other is simple.

I made the change to the clear lights by putting 6 or 8” of duct tape on the light with enough on the wheel end to pull the light back toward the wheel an inch or so and the front of the light popped out. The whole process took about 10 to 20 seconds.

The duct tape made it easy. Thanks, Kansas
