992 GTS Exhaust

One of the things I really like about the 991.2 GTS is the real dual exhaust with no fake tips. Every spy photo I have seen of a GTS shows the GTS with oval exhaust that looks similar to that found on the standard Carrera sport package, which is a faux exhaust tip. Do you think the new GTS will have a similar setup, or will the real exhaust pipe tips extend all the way to the back of the bumper?
I just think the fake oval tips are so silly, it wouldn't be a total deal-breaker on the 992 GTS but it would bum me out for sure.

I used to feel the same way. There are some significant advantages to built in exhaust "finishers." For one they don't get as dirty as attached tips. They also are much cheaper to replace if in a rear collision. Finally, if fitting an aftermarket exhaust it is easier than re-attaching the OEM tips (like I had to do on my TTS.) I feel like built in finishers will be standard on all cars at some point.

The 992 doesn't have fake tips. The tips are floating just in front of the pipe. This is to keep the real tips cleaner as there is an air gap and also protect the body from heat exchange. Clever design.

The 959 has the same setup as the 992 and that’s good enough for me. 👍

I wonder if the GTS is going to end up with that particulate filter garbage.
