Default My long waited steering wheel is ready

HI
wanted to show my steering wheel.
Its 100% oem. I have a guy in Germany that works at the factory.
As you can see, i also added the carbon trim on the carbon steering wheel. I used 2 stws to make one. Not a very easy job but is a “custom” stw, 100% OEM.

Does it bug anyone else that the regular carbon fiber interior trim pieces from Porsche aren't glazed and shiny?

I personally like the matte look of the carbon fiber, it's very understated and not as aggressive as the shiny ones that appear to be littered into every cabin in the car industry nowadays. What I don't like is how this steering wheel has two different types of carbon fiber trim, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Yes it does. We optioned our CTT with an all-carbon interior of the shiny variety. The matte carbon trim on the 992 looks like a cheap decal by comparison. YMMV.

Dzu: Love your steering wheel!

I've always preferred the matte carbon to glossy, which looks a little early 2000s to me.

I was on the fence with Porsche's trim, but I think the contrast of the matte carbon trim works with the shiny piano black interior trim. I went with the carbon trim and carbon wheel and the sport tex seats - so it all ties together. I'll probably end up buying the sills later, since those can be user installed.

I really want the chalk interior and wish it was mated with black instead of slate grey. I don't mind the slate grey on the doors and dash if I could only have the wheel in black or dye it black. So I'm looking at the black with chalk stitching and chalk centers, which doesn't have the feel that the all-chalk seats have.

If I remember correctly, the matte carbon first started showing up in McLaren P1s. There were some reporters who didn't like it coz it wasn't shiny like the F1 counterparts.

I prefer the matte finish 😍

I have a carbon wheel in my Macan S and carbon trim all around in my XC90 R Design. But I don’t want any in my 992. Kind of over how busy it is.

This is the best look I've seen on a Porsche GT steering wheel yet .

Mismatched carbon weave and finishes are definitely not an OEM look, especially for Porsche. No offense.
