Attached is a spy shot from the upcoming Turbo S. What intrigues me is the speed limit info shown on upper left of the tach seemingly without Nav on. Is this available on our cars? If so how do you get it there?
It is part of the sign recognition that comes with adaptive cruise control. It also reads the US black and yellow signs for turns.
ACC is an excellent option and the system even does full stop and go. Excellent for daily driver use or even just stretching the legs.
From what I understand the speed limit indicator data comes from NAV system but is over ridden by the sign read function. The signs for turns do not seem to be read very often and speed limit info often wrong except on major highways and high traffic volume streets.
Indeed it comes with the LKA option (Lane Keep & Sign Recognition option) and what I liked about it on the car I test drove, was the "speed limit warning" is configurable! We set it to +15 mph which caused the outer rim of the speed limit sign on dash to show Red (no audible tone) which I really liked.

I have to disagree with that. Mine works very well. Sometimes I'm amazed at the fact that I have three different signs side by side on my screen. I live in a rural area and as soon as the speed limit changes it's reflected in the car. I live off a rural highway that the speed changes three times and the car quickly changes the screen.
This makes me very tempted to add LKA to my order, which locks March 4th.
So question to those who have LKA: if you turn it off in the PCM does the speed limit still show? It does seem an awfully expensive way to get just that that but I really do find it helpful in rentals that have it. Then again in SoCal nobody obeys the speed limit anyway!
The sign recognition is great and reliable. It's also integrated. If you have ACC on, the system will actually alert you be "ready" when it sees a yellow/black turn sign ahead. I am a huge fan of the LKA/ACC option combination. If you intend to daily or drive your 992 in traffic, totally worthwhile option. It makes stop and go utterly painless.

Could you expound upon this a little more please? I have LKA/ACC and really do like the speed limit sign recognition, which works great. I have to admit that I have not tried the ACC and NO, I've not read the manual. Thanks much!!

My car has both LKA and ACC. It does fine on speed limits but seems to miss turn signs. Could this be a camera alignment problem?
