I think AM radio reception requires stations broadcast in HD. Can anyone confirm? It's a really stupid thing for Porsche to do, if true.

I don't believe that Porsche supports AM radio of any kind with the 992 PCM. If you want your talk radio fix, Sirius XM or stream it.

^ Yes. And a big, "Screw you!" to anyone who has to drive through rural or mountain areas with no cell reception.

Speaking of radio, is there a way to completely turn it off? When I turn on the ignition, PCM starts playing the radio until the CarPlay connects. (No, I'm not millennial, I just enjoy my music and podcasts on my phone)

I looked at this last night and found no AM option as others have already mentioned. I do like having the ability to stream (ie Pandora, etc) and that makes it really nice. Will be interesting to see what happens if/when I "need" AM.....

Windshield wipers were invented in 1902. Did they delete those too?

I don't because they are garbage filled with annoying commercials. If I wanted to I could easily stream from a number of sources. Podcast app will capture the morning news if I want. AM is the equivalent of 30-60kbps in quality (i.e terrible).

My post was a little toungue in cheek, but for arguments sake AM radio has been replaced by better alternatives, wipers have not.

On the settings page there is an option for AM HD radio content. Mine is checked and still will not show AM under the Media section. Anyone have an idea of why it shows under settings but not media?
