Default 992 PCM Issue

I've been enjoying my 992 for the better part of a month now and have run into an issue with the PCM that I've thus far been unable to resolve. The PCM is not persisting my Porsche ID or my brightness settings for the gauge cluster. The Porsche ID will simply drop completely and will randomly reappear at certain times. I've set the configuration properly according to Porsche guidance (manual login without pairing code). Because it isn't holding the ID in the configuration, I can't send destinations to it from the app which is super annoying. I've called PCNA and they haven't been helpful other than suggesting taking the car to my dealer for a full factory reset (which I would prefer not to do). Idiotically, PCNA asked me to send photos of the Porsche ID present on the PCM display and photos of the display after the ID is deleted (as if that is even remotely instructive for them). Wondering if anyone has experienced the same and have successfully remediated. Thanks in advance.

I'm in Germany, so things might work differently with the PCM here.
However, I experienced the same issues for some time.
I think it all depends on whether the PCM is able to establish an internet connection right after starting the car.
If that is not successful, weird things like you describe happen.
Also, when trying to enter something like a destination in the satnav during this boot process, things seem to get mixed up sometimes.
I have tried all kind of connetivity options - internal SIM, my own SIM and iPhone as a WLAN hotspot - and for me, an external SIM seems to work most of the time. I also try not to touch the PCM until Carplay music starts (which is a sign that the boot process is mostly done).
All a bit fragile.

Thank for the reply. This would make sense as I typically start my car in a parking deck with poor internet connectivity. Unfortunately, I have to enter the pairing code every time the ID doesn't surface. Porsche really needs to look into this and apply a fix in an update release. At this price point, I expect everything to work as intended.

For Maps you can use http://www.sdkautos.com to integrate native Google Maps and Waze with all of the benefits, real time map updates, realtime traffic, real time police & speed traps, offline maps, etc plus Spotify, YouTube, Netflix, Google Music, Tidal, etc

There is a login of the Porsche ID through Bluetooth in the PCM. Did u enable that on the PCM?

Yeah I’ve tried all the different configurations and it still drops the ID. I know Nick Murray did a video on his Macan and mentioned the same issue. Dealership doesn’t know how to resolve other than a wipe and reinstall the bits on the PCM. Thanks for the reply.

This is interesting. Thanks for sharing. Does this have to be connected to vehicle systems? I’d be a bit concerned about installing a black box appliance from an unknown manufacturer in my car and connecting it from a security/integrity perspective.
