I was curious about what the standard interior looked and felt like. I took these pics from a local dealer and figured it might help others who are trying to decide on options.
I think the Standard trim is really nice, it comes off similar to a subtle carbon fiber. No need to upgrade it, except for personal taste.
I do think the Leather interior looks much nicer than the Standard interior, however. It suits the rest of the car better and the Standard fake leather stands out to me. With that said I'm not sure you'd really care after a couple of weeks.
Just my 2 cents after sitting in and driving a bunch of 992s.

Agreed on both points. The texture of the standard trim matches the switches and nubbins too.
I've got the standard interior and think it looks fine. Put my money into the performance options on the car. To each their own.....
If you are not planning to have your car for several years go with the standard interior because it will look that way in the future compared to leather.
As long as seating surfaces are leather, I'm okay with seatbacks, doors, and dash not being leather. The vegan interior in my wife's Tesla is easy to clean and still looks great after a few years.
I had full leather interiors in both my Aston Martins as well as my current R8. The leather smells nice, but needs a lot of upkeep with periodic washing / conditioning.

I hear this alot, but it's not really a big deal in this case. The standard interior has seating and steering wheel in leather, like you said. Those are the areas that by far need the most attention.
The leather door card and dash need minimal effort to keep maintained. My 993 leather interior is 22 years old and looks brand new on the dash and door.
I really see the best of all worlds here, the standard interior is very nice, really high quality materials, great design, and then a lot of sparkle in the instrument panel...
...and then the leather interior upgrades give you things that are mostly completely different... creative colors, two tones, contrasting stitching, dash coverings, etc.
A zero option c2 is just an incredible vehicle, but it’s also cool that Porsche lets you make one that truly is just for what you like (as long as you don’t want a zero option c2 with a manual?!?!).

The dealer had my car in the showroom, so I did not order and had to go for 80% of what I wanted. Had I ordered, I would have seriously looked at the various interior options as I do keep my cars for a long period of time.
after having a car with the leather interior and standard trim (only the trim), I actually quite like the trim...its functional, easy to clean, doesn't show fingerprints and won't really scratch. However, sitting in a car with the leatherette dash at the dealer before picking mine up...I have to say it felt a little cheap in a 120k plus GT car (for a gt3 I don't care, lux isnt the point). To each their own there...I LOVE my truffle interior FWIW>

Agreed. For me, it's not so much the standard seats and doorsills that are a problem. They look fine to me. It's the rubbery dash, which looks out of place on a six-figure car. We'll be adding the full-leather option mainly to get the dash area dressed up.
We have the full Club Leather package on our 9Y0 Turbo. For us, it makes the car. We get more compliments on the interior than just about anything else. But I understand skipping this pricey money-grab option. Frankly, that's the smart thing to do, financially
If you love the smell of Vinyl, this interior will be great. I would never get anything but full leather on a car of this price. My wife's Honda Civic has a leather interior!
