Great setup, looks beautiful. Could you tell us which spacers did u get, I saw H&K brand, any special model and site to get them?

I got 15mm and 10mm from ECS, the 10mm didn’t fit.

Be honest guys... Do the spaces up front vibrate the steering wheel or anything?

I ordered 15mm front and 8mm rear from ECS. The rears didn't fit and the 15mm DID change the way the steering feels. Its subtle and I suspect some people won't care, (as the wheels looked so much better 15mm further out), but for me I don't want anything that compromises the feel so I have removed them. On the 991 the biggest spacer Porsche would sell you was 5mm. I can't help but feel there was a good reason for this and so I am going to pay an engineering firm here in the UK (Litchfield) to workout what the best fit/feel is for a 992. It is not an exact science!

I have H&R 15mm front (hubcentric) and H&R 7mm rear (hubcentric) and H&R lowering springs. No vibration whatsoever.

Great thought. Litchfield did a Carrera T that had great reviews. I think they used KW HAS springs and spacers along with a tune. Spacers really can make a pretty significant change in steering feel and handling, quite often for the worse.

Going to ask a question (that hopefully doesn't get me a dumbass sticker) - how much warranty risk is there with doing something like springs to lower the car?
I know these things are not easy to quantify - but has anyone on a 991/997 ever run into trouble that folks have heard about?

That is awesome! Did Litchfield give you any type of time frame for when this might be done?

I know I had spacers on my 2003 C4S and I hated them and haven't used them since so I'm anxious to watch this topic to see if my opinion changes over time.
  1. I am really interested in a true A - B comparison because It "seems" to me that several 992's are being fitted without a lot of miles driven on them in the stock configuration so if that is all you are used to, then your impressions might be skewed somewhat.
  2. I definitely like the overall looks better (with the spacers) however here is a concern / question I've not seen addressed. With the spacers, there is a "lot" more rubber picking up rocks / debris to hit the paint. Is anyone seeing any evidence of this or am I just making a faulty assumption?

You risk loosing warranty on anything you touch that can be related to whatever is broken. So if you lower your car with springs and your shocks leak. You pay for the new shocks. If you put on spacers and say a wheel bearing goes out. You pay for wheel bearing.

As the saying goes. You gotta pay to play. And if you do not want to risk having to pay for any repairs. Then dont mod your car.

Regarding #2. YES you will see a TON more "peppering" on the side of your car. My 991.2 had spacers and the rear quarter panels where completely chipped much more than a stock car after the same amount of time/miles. Its the front ones that wreck down the door and the rear quarter panel.

Just lowered the car, and TBH I find the ride very rough, is this normal? I actually might go back to stock height. lowered my other cars and ride was actually better then stock, this car not so much. any feedback would be great.
