992 GT3 speculation

True, but after the 991.1 GT3 engine fiasco, Porsche spent a lot of extra time and money developing the 4.0L engine that went into the .2 GT3 and RS. They will reuse that engine for the 992.1 GT3 (+/- the ITB from the Speedster) because they won't risk another engine issue/and better recoup their R D costs.
Touring might get different wheels, but I doubt we'll see rear seats, sunroof, or a GT3 cab other than a 992 send off Speedster.
Porsche doesn't put comfort options into the hardcore drivers cars, such as the GT3, RS, Touring, GT4 and Spyder. It does that because then everyone would want them instead of the turbo options that enable them to meet their emissions targets.
By eliminating cushy luxury options such as entry and drive, power cab top, rear seats, sunroof, etc from their GT team designed cars, they continue to provide great drivers cars for their hardcore enthusiasts that crave such cars, while still convincing the average drivers of the world to mainly buy their mediocre but very effective turbo versions that keep overall Porsche carbon emissions down. Porsche doesn't want everyone to have access to an GT NA powered 911/cayman/boxster with all the usual coupe and cab luxury options, because they fear too many people would buy such cars instead of the turbo/electric options.

Also, eliminating some of those options such as heated seats, sunroof, entry and drive, ventilated seats, rear seats, etc. saves the racing enemy which is weight. If you want to be a bear, be a grizzly.
So, average drivers drive turbo cars??? What do you have to say about the 917? Or the 919 ?

I will take a guess on the new 992.1 GT3 -
4.0 liter engine, 525 hp
8 speed PDK racing box- 8th gear is not overdrive
203 mph top speed - and will market it as the first real 200+ mph GT3
21" rear wheels, possibly 1/2" wider
MASTERFUL Carrera interior with nubbin option - IF YOU LOVE IT
Carbon roof option
10-piston option for PCCBs
0-60 in 2.8 sec

That is a great point...but...mediocre but very effective turbo versions? Mediocre? The 992 group may be in an outrage over this statement! lmao

Agree that weight drives much of the options porsche doesn’t include in the special cars, but they also do it cars not directly intended for the track like the Spyder, GT3 Touring, and Speedster.
