here are some pictures to help illustrate what i was saying
I’m not seeing it. If anything, you could make an argument that the 911 and the Cayman share some family resemblance, but not the Ferrari. Unless by similar you mean that they have a hood, lights, fenders, wheels, air intakes, etc.
ironically I actually thought the front end of the non sport design package front bumper had a few similarities to the new f8's literally earlier today...so troll thread or not it's actually kind of funny
Got it--yellow with black stripes make them the same. Like this one below :-)
In all honesty, I think maybe the distinction goes back to a comment made upthread. It was essentially that uncommon, sporty cars in bright/loud/standout colors garner more attention regardless of what they actually are amongst non-aficionados. Which is why a white TTS could fly under the radar amongst people that don't know much about cars but those same people would ooh and ahh over something at a fraction of the price and performance if it was painted in fly yellow.

Reason: clarity (I hope!)
I have been in situations where ive overheard people mistaking a ferrari for a corvette, but never a 911 or cayman for a corvette. I have however had people think the cayman was a ferrari
I mean, all i did was just comment on how a porsche looked quite like a ferrari. The 718 caymans with the sportdesign package definitely make the front end look very ferrari like. I have made no insults or derogatory comments to anyone here, yet it is mostly what i receive. I dont really see where the lunacy is in making this thread
Yet you continue to receive the love from fellow members. I find this thread retarded and redundant, purely due to the fact that this is a car forum. Most members here would know the differences between vehicles, especially Porsches' compared to other sports cars, as I'm sure we all in this forum are very enthusiastic about cars.
Car makers , whether it be sports or luxury car manufacturers, have had decades of models and designs to develop a brand identity over the course of automotive history. Those big yellow shields on the fenders surely give it away as a Ferrari. It's 2019, people can Google on their phones and see any model in a instant. Logos, marketing and brand awareness of various manufacturers have improved the awareness of the general public on different vehicles. The only few people getting confused between a 911 and a Ferrari are the group of "attractive women" from your other thread, or those who do not appreciate or like cars and see them as a means of transportation only. I doubt anyone on Rennlist thinks cars are solely for that purpose.
As for your subject on this thread, the 992 is unmistakably Porsche. It doesn't resemble any existing or past Ferrari, and with your second statement that it looks more Ferrari than a Ferrari, I suggest you post this on the Ferrari forums. I'm sure you'll draw much more attention.
