Default Does the 992 attract a lot of looks and attention?

Or the 911 turbo models?

I've noticed that huracans and ferraris are often rented, and a lot of people feel the same way. It seems to me like these extremely expensive sports cars no longer have the wow factor from a couple decades ago because of how commonplace they have become. Coupled with the fact that assuming the driver is young looking, nobody will velieve its actually his car. With a porsche 911 however, i would argue that people perceive it differently because nobody really rents a 911. They are typically owned

Do you pack your lunch the night before school, or in the morning before the bus comes?

The 992 gets 98% of the looks and attention that the Turbo S does 64% of the time, and apparently 42% of Ferrari drivers are renting them. At least that's 9 times out of 10. Actual results may vary.

If you are buying a 911 to get attention, you’re doing it wrong. They’re not rare and they’re quite common, especially if you live near either coast in the United States. You buy a 911 for yourself, not to impress other people.

Ferrari? Sure, people generally know that they’re expensive, but you would be surprised how many folks ignore them. When a Ferrari isn’t red, the average person can’t even identify it — it can be invisible.

If your chief concern is to be “seen”, that is the purpose of a Lamborghini. Everyone knows a Lambo. They’re flashy and loud. Admittedly, not super great “cars”, but the V10 models are fairly bulletproof and you can save yourself a couple of bucks getting it serviced at an Audi dealer.

Why are Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis popular exotic rental cars? Well, there are enthusiasts that like to sample a car outside of their budget — that’s one group. Then, there’s the significant portion who want to appear wealthy and enjoy a fantasy for a few hours. There’s a reason that so many of these cars are rented in Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York.

To me the new 992s stand out a lot more. Reason why i say that is because everyone knows its a porsche and its instantly identifiable. With the new rear brake light design, it has made itself look very modern.

Put those 30-inch rims on, then any car will get you the attention you want!

Many decades ago when I was in my 20s, almost everyone loved cars, especially sports cars. I believe that my three sons are typical of millennials with respect to their attitude towards cars. My sons are highly paid professionals who could easily afford almost any new 911, but they all drive relatively inexpensive cars and think I'm foolish for throwing away money on expensive sports cars. Based on what I've read, I do not believe many millennials take interest in the cars driven by others. Moreover in today's political environment, there are many who even resent ostentatious displays of wealth.
So I agree. Buy a 911 because you appreciate what the car offers, and not in the vain hope that it may impress others.

Most posters here assume that I want a sports car to impress others, when in fact, quite the opposite is true. I am buying it because a lot of people my age resent displays of wealth such as spending a high amount of money on a car. I think it's funny. Also I think you are right on the attitude thing in regards to millennials. Most have no interest in automobiles (although some still do), but where they save on luxury vehicles, they will typically spend that money on other things, such as vacations, fine dining experiences and other things of that nature. These activities are more Instagram and social media worthy as they can show off to their friends that they went on an exotic vacation to Bora Bora or something. It's a shame that the motoring experience has gone to crap over the years, but it is in a way justified as traffic in major cities continues to increase year after year, and Americans are spending more time behind the wheel more than ever in bumper to bumper traffic. There is basically no place to really enjoy a high performance car anymore on regular roads unless you live in a rural area, but people who live in such areas usually don't make a large enough income to afford the high-end sports car lifestyle. The Panamera is the car I really want because it is comfortable, and after having been on the market for a while now, I believe it is a safe time to purchase a new 971 as the kinks should have been ironed out by now.
