Default PSE exhaust button

So after watching Doug Demuro's latest video of the Lizard Green 911 S, which was equipped with PSE had a physical exhaust button on the line of switches with the TC and suspension adjustment. But I had just looked at a 2020 at my local dealer with the oval tips, which I assumed were PSE, but it didn't have a physical button, it this an option? I could not find anything on the Configurator. Anyone know why some have it and some don't?

Interesting.

Saw a recent build locally and it had two of the triangle icons, which are user customizable shortcuts for things like PSE, etc.

yep that's the configuration I saw as well, but after watching his video and looking at a few different cars online some of them have the physical button, some have the shortcut button, not sure if it's some package or option but very curious to find out. unrelated wish the new sport exhaust tips for non PSE are what came standard on PSE, look so much better then the ovals.

Just pulled the VIN on the car I saw. No PSE - just sport tips. I had totally forgotten that those were even an option... but now I’m curious about the exhaust icon on the display.

that doesn't makes sense as it has the option to put the exhaust into sport in the display, that can only be done with the PSE option, as far as I know you can't change the sound of the non PSE exhaust or at least not by itself, maybe the base exhaust has valves too when put into sport. I'm really confused here, and the sport tip option is a quad tip.

Dug into the build I mentioned, has the full sports package, which I had assumed didn’t include PSE but does.

Regardless, interesting to see the variance in button layout. Wonder if it’s a recent thing.

The early cars had two diamond buttons you could configure yourself. But cars that are delivered now including my own 9 weeks ago have a dedicated button for sport exhaust. Think Porsche listened to everyone here and everywhere who complained that there was no dedicated button. All cars I have seen now that are delivered now have one. The same goes for apple car play, early cars required cord to car play while today cars are wireless.

After spending months on the configurator and seeing a couple of cars with PSE and non-PSE, I deduced the following -

Without PSE, SC, FAL - you get the WET & SPORT buttons

If you add SC - You get the 2 diamond buttons
If you add SC with PSE - 1 diamond button and 1 PSE button
If you add SC with FAL - 1 diamond button and 1 FAL button
If you add SC with PSE & FAL - no diamond buttons, PSE and FAL buttons only
If you add PDCC in any config type - the Damper button gets the text ‘PDCC’ next to the icon on the button.

Mine has the configurable diamond buttons and by coincidence, I mapped my second one to the exhaust before I even had seen Doug's video.
