Default New 992 check engine light

Just picked up our new 992 this morning after waiting over one year for it to arrive. Before getting home had a check engine light illuminated and a warning that we are in reduced power mode. Anyone have similar issue or know if it is safe to drive?

Check the easy stuff first; gas cap, and oil fill cap.

I had this happen once on a brand new BMW and it was due to a faulty gas cap that had to be replaced. The gas cap air leak, however, did not initiate safe driving mode. I would consult with dealer as it sounds like something more important than air leak.

When it went into limp mode, what were your oil temps and coolant temps?

That truly sucks, talk about a downer.

Don't drive it unless until you get some feedback from Porsche service and then straight to the shop, maybe on a flatbed.

Check your oil level if you haven't done so.

Thank you for the suggestions. Fuel and oil caps were on correctly. Oil and water looked ok. The check engine light disappeared this morning so, hopefully, ok to drive now.

Make a service appointment soonest, have the car scanned, logs should give a clue to the message.

Plus you've done your due diligence should there be a re-occurrence.
