I’ll share a photo as soon as I get mine installed. I also ordered a custom mount from blendmount that attaches to the rear view mirror so that I don’t have to double stick tape it to the windshield. The mount wasn’t cheap, but I hate doing things half-assed.

i bought the blend mount, however i have not hooked it up to the fuse box as yet. I bought the wrong size fuse taps then have not had time to connect it via the fuse box. I also bought the ODB Power Magic but it does not work for our cars, however it does work on my JGC. So right now its running off the cig lighter

It seems like everything in the world now runs off of rechargeable batteries except for radar detectors and dash cams. Things could all be so much easier with just a battery and a suction cup mount.

Thanks for the picture; the installation looks relatively inconspicuous. Are you happy with the unit's performance?

Which Blendmount did you buy? I saw there were 3 options. And did you do the install yourself? I'm contemplating a dash cam and it seems the BV900S is the popular choice. I do want to hard wire it in so that it can record while parked, interesting to hear that the Power Magic does not work for the 992. Appreciate you sharing!

You need to check your car and compare the mirror mount against the pictures. One of the three is for manual dimming mirror. That one is pretty easy. If you have auto dimming, look at the housing shape as shown in the pics.

I bought BBV-2032 based on the photo on the website matching my rear view mirror. I haven’t received my blendmount yet, maybe tomorrow.

what is the problem with power magic? Is it just the OBD version that doesn’t work , or the hard wired version too?

Two coats of gtechniq halo ceramic coating over my ppf. Did the coating myself. Ignore the disabled parking sign, it’s my building’s designated car wash stall. It took longer than expected, but I’m happy with the results.

I have some Halo I want to apply also. Is there any ‘gotchas” I should be aware of? I applied Gtech CSL and EXOv4 on 4 cars so I am hoping it will be a similar process

This was actually my first attempt at coating after reading a lot of forums & watching YouTube channels. Detailing is a hobby for me. I was actually pretty comfortable with this since it’s on top of PPF so the risk was capped. If you have experience with crystal serum light , you should be fine. Preparation is key. I used gyeon prep to clean the surfaces. Just make sure you have good lighting to catch any spots you missed in the removal.

I did the Valentine v2 upgrade program, and then bought the blendmount mirror mount and had the power cord professionally run behind the mirror.

i used to mount the detector on the visor clip, where you rarely felt like it was quite as horizontal as you wanted, so this solves that, and then after running it for a week or two with the power cord hanging down to the cigarette lighter, you really appreciate having it professionally wired.

Bearing in mind I’m not a radar detector pro, hadn’t used my previous one in years, I’ve been VERY impressed with how the V2 performs in default logic mode, in terms of both range and filtering. Using both the V2 and Waze through CarPlay, hopefully some of the V2 iPhone apps will work through CarPlay eventually too.

Just had it installed along with PPF a few days ago. It is night & day better than the Clearplex I have had on my Macan for almost 3 years - going to have it replaced next week with Exoshield as well.
I'm no expert, but the Exoshield is completely distortion free & optically clear to my eye - you absolutely can't tell it is there. The Clearplex always had just a little haze & a bit of an orange-peel texture you could see if you looked closer than down the road - not terrible, but obvious. The Exoshield has an additional nano-ceramic top coat that gives it a harder surface. The Clearplex did what it was supposed to & prevented at least 3 cracked windshields, so hopefully the Exoshield will perform as well without all the drawbacks I mentioned.
As is the case with all sorts of film, the quality of the installer is critical to a quality finished product.
Good decision.
