Coasting mode
i have asked on other forums but no reply. Does the 992 have auto coasting mode. I know you can coast by pulling both the pedals together. In the previous models of the 991 and 992 coasting mode activated when foot off the accelerator down a gradient. I have tried it on the 992 but does not function in auto. Could it be due to the 8th gear?

I have asked to my dealer and he have open a ticket for Porsche to answer that question.
i have same issue on my 992. In my Macan or Panamera the coasting mode works automatically when I leave slow the gas pedal in every gear...
In the 992 that doesn’t work...
it work only if you pull the right paddle, so manually not automatically.
for me this is an issue because the fuel consumption is worse than ever and I used to do that in every Porsche I have.
i hope Porsche can solve it via software...
I haven’t red in any guide part if the 992 like 991 has this feature.
i remember that in 991 this feature was clearly presented also in the videos on site, on 992 not.
please go to your dealer and make open a ticket for Porsche because a lot of these issues in past was solved after a lot of consumer answer
bye bye

Pardon the technical ignorance here, do you think this change from 991 has to do with the added 8th gear on the 992, in which they opted for the car to use it rather than coast to keep the fuel economy numbers similar?

That is disappointing. I think the coasting mode in the 991 is brilliant. Makes for remarkably good fuel economy on road trips. I can get close to 400 miles on a tank of gas when highway driving in normal mode with auto start/stop (coasting mode) engaged.
