Coupe or Cabriolet
Hi gys,
I'm a new member in forum. i'm considering to pursche a 992 4s couple or cabriolet. Currently, i go to work by a panamera in the morning. So i want to find a car for driving at night and go for mountain in the weekend. But in my country, the weather is humid subtropical climate. There are 4 months in hot ~90F and 3 months in cold ~ 40F, i do not know cabriolet could be handled in there condition. Although, i really love driving with the top down, Please help me to figure it out?
Thanks

With a cabriolet, if it’s ~90F outside and too hot for the top to be down, you can turn on the air conditioner. With a coupe, your only option in that heat is air conditioning.
For those days were it is too cool for the top to be down, but still warm, you can open a sunroof with a coupe (if you select that option). The only choices you have with a cab is to open a window or turn on the ventilation.
Either a cab or coupe would be fine on cold days.
I current drive an AMG glass hardtop convertible. I love driving top down but miss the sunroof. I have a C4S coupe on order with a glass sunroof. I’m hoping I don’t regret not ordering a cab.

I have had an M4 convertible since 2015. I live in a climate similar to yours. I drive with the top down almost every day. On some hot summer days I do wish I had seat ventilation, which is one reason I am considering the 992 cab. But as the poster above mentioned, you can just close the top if necessary, and the rest of the time you can enjoy the open roof.
cheers,

The newer cabriolets (991 and newer) require very little compromise compared to a coupe. With the top closed, they are almost as quiet as the coupe. With the top open, they offer an unrivaled driving experience.
I live in the mountains in Colorado. In the middle of the summer, we can have temperatures above 90 degrees F. In the winter months, we often see temperatures of -20 degrees F. The cabriolet has no issues at all in these extremes.

How about a Targa? It is half couple and half Cab. I drove a Cab and Targa before I ordered one and I know you are asking about a 992 so if you are not in a hurry you can wait until it is released. Either way, a drop top is the way to go since even if you only get 1 nice day a year you can put the top down in a Cab or Targa but you can never so that in a Coupe. And in my Targa with the top up it is just like a Cab, but with much better rearward visiblity than any other model.
