Sport-Tex opinions?
Not much talk on the Sport-Tex seat option... looks pretty cool from videos and pics, but I haven't seen it on the 992 much. I'm planning on the sports seats plus/ interior leather in black with chalk stitching and am about to lock. What are people's thoughts, pros/cons?

Had them in my 991 and they were very comfortable. A bit more effort to keep clean but once freshened up they look as new. I’ve ordered and seen the new sport tex in the 992 and the quality is def up

a quick vac/wipe off is needed more often to keep clean, but super comfy. IMO a bit softer and sit a bit more IN the seat than with full leather. LOVE my sportex!

I rock SHORT shorts, but I shave my legs. No scratchyness.

My opinion is not as relevant as others since I’ve had leather on most of my cars... but, my daughter left her vw golf w/ sport tex with us recently. I fell in love with coolness of those seats and I’m in favor of them in a big way. otoh, my wife is like ‘seriously? you’re gonna buy this car without leather?’
yep, I probably will!

Sport-Tex on the Cab and Targa
If I may,
If I was going to purchase a new Cab or Targa, I'm probably going Sport-Tex -for reasons outlined-heat, sun AND thinking, I wouldn't go with the deviated white stitching just plain black. White stitching is very nice, but my concern over time is that the white won't look so white, if exposed to the open cockpit environment over the years, knowing that I will own this car for the next 10 years or more. Am I concerned for nothing?
As far as the brushed aluminum...it's nice but it doesn't cry out to me -that I must have-at least not yet.
Adventurine Green in Cab or Targa might be the exception, in that I think that the real leather brown and wood trim would be a nice combination for my long term hold of the car.
However, as I sit now, I'm deciding on color for my car purchase of an open cockpit or even the coupe 992. It also depends what you want. Flash, moderate, or stealth.
If I were to purchase a coupe, then I probably would stay the black standard or black leather interior with white deviated stitching.
Everything seems to be a tradeoff here, at least for me. Things I must have and things that would be nice and things I kind of go..do I really need this? Swallow hard.
But what an wonderful position to be in.
Nice forum.
Thankyou, Mark

Lovin then so far in my Carrera T. Comfortable, durable and they look great. I expect they will wear well and my interior gets lots of compliments.

Not sure where you live, but on a serious note, it is summer here in AZ. when Its 110 degrees outside and I get into my un-tinted T with the gorilla glass, my leather steering wheel and shifter are hot...the seats, not at all...they do keep cool vs leather

I am now looking to buy a 992 Targa when it becomes available.
Back in the day, I had a 1980 Targa SC with a high end dark brown Racaro? leather seat with no seat ventilation.
I remember putting sheepskin covers on the seats. If I recall correctly, I think it was because the seats would get too hot otherwise…sweaty back, sticky, to hot to wear shorts, and jumping into an open cockpit after being exposed to some sun.
This would lend support to purchasing the Sport-Tex seat option rather than the leather seats such as the Truffle leather.
However, Porsche Targa has seat ventilation now. Would the seat ventilation, now largely mitigate the need for the Sport-Tek?
If so what would be the advantage of the Sport-Tek?
Thankyou,
Mark
