Same here, no problems with the AC here in FL even with my 991.2 top retracted...I cannot believe Porsche would build a car without adequate AC.

Not sure how helpful this is but I test drove 3 992s in Dubai during summer at 42C (107F) and the A/C was phenomenal. One of them was parked in the sun for a few hours when I got into it. Took a few minutes but then was perfect. Cooling seats are a touch noisy at the high setting but you can’t hear them unless stationary. Possible that the A/C spec for Dubai is different than North America or Europe though.

Default Very Disappointed with AC in 911 992 C2

I very disappointed with the AC in my 2021 911 992 C2. On an 85 degree sunny day in NJ the temp in the cabin is just acceptable. Even at position "low" it reminds me of my old BMW that would be mediocre at high rev and push warm air at idle.

I take it to the dealer on June 21 2022 for its 1 year complimentary service. I will COMPLAIN about the AC and the staining from brake dust on RS Spyder....I don't mind cleaning the wheels if the brown stain would come off..... PS entire car XPEL Ultimate and then ceramic coated...just not the wheels (cry).

Other than that the car is a BEAST and I love it....

120F indicated in the desert, well over 100F actual temp.
It was totally fine. My 992C4S had the glass sunroof and ventilated seats.

When I first got my 992, the AC didn't seem up to snuff until I realized that all of the vents were closed. 🤣

Never experienced "stains" on my RS Spyder design wheels. I had iron rotors. I never use harsh wheel cleaners on wheels -- they get the same soap/shampoo/solution used on the rest of the car. I did have the wheels ceramic coated.

Do get yourself a WOOLYWORMIT to clean wheels and barrels.

I think it works fine, especially “max AC” if it’s really hot inside on startup. With SmartTOP, if I come out and it’s been sitting in the sun, I open the top remotely and let the first blast of hot air out before getting into car.

Of course, I started with air cooled cars over 30 years ago and that “AC” was pretty much non-functional. It wasn’t until the 993s that AC worked and in those cars, you had to blast it so loudly to keep things cool on a hot day that I couldn’t hear myself think. I would still love another 993 if I could manage one though…

It's great. No issues. Turn on the center dash vents for well directed extra cooling. Seat vents on max for those hot leather days.

You drive in the sun??? And admit it in a public forum???

There goes resale value.

My nipples get hard it gets sooo cold. 👍

But then again, I don’t live in a place where temps rarely get to triple digits.

It's been hitting 112 to 117 degrees on my car temperature gauge here in Phoenix over the past few days. AC works very well and I have sport Tex seats with no seat ventilation. Only complaint is that the AC is noisy when on initial max cool but that's better than roasting, and when the car is cooled I can drop it down a few notches.

It works well when there is enough refrigerant but I have a leak in the system which results in the right/passenger side not cooling well. The car is under warranty and I brought it to the dealer with this issue last year but they couldn't find a leak so just refilled the refrigerant. It worked fine for a while (and also... winter) but now a year later, summer again and same issue - not enough cooling on passenger side. I'll have them look again but hope I'm not stuck on an annoying yearly refill cycle. I understand the AC system/lines routing is pretty convoluted and not easy to get to so finding a leak is not a simple exercise.

The reason I'm bringing this up is a) to see if anyone has had this issue and resolved it and b) in case anyone feels like their AC isn't performing well, check (with your hand) the temperature at driver left vent vs. the passenger right vent. For me there is a very noticeable temperature difference (and yes, I have both zones set to same temp).

Check in the PCM climate control menu to make sure you haven't disabled the upper A/C vents in the top center of the dash, and make sure they are adjusted toward you. They provide most of the cool air that I feel. I had them off by mistake for a while, and was frustrated by the amount of cold air until I realized my mistake.

I live near Dallas, so I give it a great test every day.
The air conditioner is more than adequate. Probably not the best on the market, but it’s fine for my needs.

100+ degree weather right now.

As an automotive climate control engineer, I think the a/c system in the 992 is pretty good. The outlet locations are compromised as a trade-off vs design and package, but I think the system works fine. As noted by others, it also has the outlets on top of the instrument panel, which can be very effective.

I keep my upper center vent closed, but changed airflow to Strong in the PCM. Works great.

Live in So Florida and my C2 coupe has been my daily for 18 months. I leave it on auto with everything open and it works great.
