Default Center Stop Light design meaning

I was having dinner with my friend, Porsche Brand Ambassador, and he show me the meaning of the center stop light in the 992.

If you count the vertical fins starting from each side you have 9 and then two more || (the stop light) so you get 911, an if you count 9 from one side, 9 from the other side and the 2 stop light you get 992....

Peter Varga, Director of Exterior Design at Porsche, says "it's like a pause symbol". I prefer your friend's explanation.

Once I take delivery, I plan to have black film installed between the 1s in the "11" so that it gives the effect of two red bars.

Same here. Someone else on this forum did exactly that with black film between the red bars and it looks much better.

While the explanation is cool, that thing is just plain UGLY!! I just viewed a 992 C4S at PECLA and it looks even worse than the pics.
Hard to believe it made it to final production.

I have been saying it is super ugly since day one. Looks like a ugly bleeding wart on the car. I am still not able to love the 992. Waiting for the 992 Turbo models.

Super displeased with the current Porsche 992 designers

My distaste for the 992 interior and exterior is well documented on RL. I suspect the Tron stop lights will go bye-bye along with the nubbin. I just can't see those two design elements becoming a permanent fixture in the 911 lineup. Or...at least I hope not.

I am with you on this.

But I believe the designer's EGO and current management EGO is set in stone for now. We need tons of youtubers, reviewers making fun of it (these days. Best option is lack of sales. Money speaks period; how else did the 996 headlight fiasco got fixed.

I already spoke with my dealer and said show me all models from 2019 and earlier. Just no 2020 models, only model I may look at is the 992 Turbo and see how it looks.

Am I the only one that wants a mod that makes the LED light-bar sweep back-and-forth like a Battlestar Galactica Cylon? I'd totally buy that option.

cheers!
